Dear Smalley Families,

Welcome back, Smalley Bees! 🐝 We hope you had a wonderful, relaxing summer and made many special memories with your families. The Smalley staff is so excited to welcome our students back and begin another amazing school year together!

As we get ready to open our doors, we are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growing, kindness, and lots of reasons to Bee Proud! 🐝 Our Smalley Hive is at its best when students, families, and staff work together, and we are grateful for your continued partnership and support.

This year, we will continue to focus on our Four Bees:

These values guide how we learn, treat one another, and build a strong school community. We want every Smalley Bee to feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and excited to come to school each day. 🐝

The first day of school is Monday, August 31, 2026. School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m., so please plan for your child to arrive on time and ready for a great day of learning. 🐝 For arrival and dismissal, students in grades 1-5 will use the playground, while Kindergarten students will use the courtyard. Dismissal is at 2:50 p.m.

Please also remember that Smalley Elementary follows the New Britain Public Schools uniform policy. Students are expected to wear the approved school uniform each day. 🐝

We encourage you to stay connected throughout the year by communicating with your child’s teacher using School Messenger, accessing the PowerSchool Parent Portal, and attending school events. We also invite you to follow Smalley Elementary on Facebook for regular updates and highlights from our school! 🐝 Strong communication between home and school is vital to our success! 🐝

Thank you for being such an important part of our Smalley Hive. We can't wait to see our hallways filled with smiling faces, busy classrooms, and lots of learning.
